It seems that football scarves are kind of like the budget friendly version of a jersey. Plus the added benefit of being able to take it off and wave it above your head while remaining fully clothed. What do you think? Is that a fair portrayal?

Seems like there are lots of other forms of gear that can be worn to demonstrate one’s allegiance to a given club (sweats, shirts, etc.). But that doesn’t mean they have all the historical significance.
