Well, being that my son plays soccer and has at LEAST 5 Messi shirts, I think your first recommendation is probably going to make him VERY happy! He doesn’t love reading, but at least he doesn’t hate it.

He’s 13, so it sounds like, based on your recommendation, that it’s a good fit for him. I mean, if adults can read it then it should be fine for him, right?

For the first time this year he’s wondering if maybe he should quit the travel team because of the large amount of time and effort it demands. We’ve told him how advantageous it could be for him, if for nothing else but college scholarships. At the end of the day, though, it must be his decision. Here’s hoping your recommended Messi book will help him make a great decision!

Thanks for the reviews!

Ive always said that you cant force a child to keep playing a sport thet they are not happy with but its a shame if they are good at that sport, i hope that these books will inspire him to stay

Hey Shwni, nice very nice post I am a huge soccer fan but I never thought to read a book about it. You make it so I want to start. I think I am going to have to read the soccer IQ first.

Once you start to read the soccer IQ book its hard to put down and you will want to get the 2nd volume

I’m totally intrigued by The Flea just based on the name of it. It makes me keep thinking of Flea, the lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers as opposed to the world famous footballer Messi. Is there a specific reason he is nicknamed The Flea?

Messi is called La Pulga or La Pulga Atomica in spanish which is translated into The Flea or Atomic Flea, its quite a fitting name for a player who is only 5ft 7in and is a complete pest to the opposition on the field

Wow, your website just amazed me. These are the pieces of information I was looking for many days. Your explanations are very satisfying and you are definitely a pro in this.

Happy to gain knowledge about the books out there for the upcoming football players. I personally believe that there is no other game that is bonded so tightly with emoticons like football. Your page is so interesting the way you explained from Messy to Ronaldo.

I will definitely come back to your website to gain more knowledge.

Also, your website is well designed and your points are very clear that no one can ask you about something is not clear. Excellent job and keep doing the good work.

Thank you

It’s a pleasure to help you find what you need 🙂

I have not ever seen a soccer game live.  I’ve always enjoyed it when I walked into a game on TV somewhere.  Your Top Five recommendations have peaked my interest.  I particularly like you follow the objective bio with your personal opinion.  You say a lot in a few words.  I’ll let you know what I thought of them.

Love to hear what you think of these football books for boys, if you are not impressed with them then maybe you might like to take a look at these Rugby coaching books or rugby player autobiographies?

I am a fan of football. I used to play football regularly when I was young. Thank you for recommending these books with descriptions and the ratings. I have not read any of these books yet. I never thought of reading a book about it. So I might give it a try.  But I watched the movie Pelé: Birth of a Legend.

Thanks for your comment, these books are for young boys but there are a couple that I would recommend for older boys like yourself, lol

Glad you enjoyed 🙂

That is amazing that you have found these books. Most boys always have problems reading as they see reading as boring and they think they could be doing something else with their time. But, these books are actually speaking to the same things they watch on the television or the internet. For most boys, soccer is a plus and they have favourite ballers, with the majority being Lionel Messi or Neymar Jr so actually reading a book about them will be a plus for boys.

I definitely like this idea and will definitely be looking at these books for my nephews because I am always trying to get them to read more.

These books will be perfect for your nephews if they love football 🙂

I can not say I am a football fan being from North America but I do see the excellent value each of these books provide to the young reader apart from the actual lessons each teach about the sport of football.

Reading is very important for young people and the earlier they can get hooked on it the better. If your child has an interest in football then it is worth the purchase alone.

My first book I ever read was The Hobbit and I since have a love for reading.

It is great you have put this list together and are encouraging parents to purchase them for their children. They only stand to gain skills and benefit from the experience.

If you’re a football fan and love reading then these are the books you need to read 🙂
